Alnwick Theatre Club
it is with great sadness that we must advise you that our annual community pantomime will now be postponed until January 2022
We would like everyone to know that this has not been an easy decision to make.
The uncertainty of the coming weeks and months around the duration of social distancing requirements and all the regulations and restrictions around health and safety make it very difficult for us to commit to a production of such a scale and more importantly the health and well-being of our cast and crew (and their families), the Playhouse staff and the wider community is at the forefront of our minds at this time.
"All the world's a stage" - Ours is in Alnwick
Alnwick Theatre Club performs in Alnwick Playhouse. New members are always welcome and if you're interested in joining us, come and meet us every Monday and most Thursdays, 7:30 pm at St Paul's R.C. School, Alnwick. Access is at the rear of the school.
Whilst St Paul's is our usual venue for large productions we do also meet at St James Church Hall on Pottergate for smaller cast shows particularly in the spring and summer.
To be a full member you need to be aged 16 years and over. We do also welcome younger actors particularly for the panto but where you are below 16 you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is a fully paid up member. This is to ensure everyone is covered by our insurance whilst in the theatre.
There is plenty of scope for new members whether you want to audition for a principal role, sing in the panto chorus or help out backstage.
You'll find we also have a varied programme of social events, such as evenings out to local restaurants, visits to the theatre (both amateur and professional productions), after show parties, quiz nights, Christmas party and summer barbecue - Northumberland weather permitting!
Why not come along to one of our rehearsals, and introduce yourself. Have a chat and see the range of activities you could be involved in.
Check out the Members Lounge and see what we have planned next, you're welcome to come along.
